A computer network is a system of two or more computers connected by a communication medium such as a cable, telephone line, or wireless signal. Networks allow users to share files, printers, and other resources, allowing users to communicate with each other.

Some Characteristics of a computer network are listed below

1. Connectivity - The computers in a network is connected. They share resources, such as files, printers, and Internet connections.

2. Communication - The computers in a network can communicate, allowing them to share information and collaborate on projects.

3. Security - The computers in a network are secured with passwords and other measures to protect them from unauthorized access.

4. Centralization - The computers in a network can be centrally managed and controlled, allowing administrators to manage and monitor them all from a single location.

5. Scalability - The computers in a network can be scaled up or down to meet the users' needs, allowing the network to grow or shrink as needed.

6. High Speed  - Computer networks can transmit data quickly and efficiently, making them ideal for transferring large files or communicating with other computers. Additionally, computer networks can be connected, allowing users to access information from all over the world.

The main features of a computer network are speed, reliability, and security.

Speed - The speed of a computer network depends on the type of network, the distance between devices, and the network connection quality.

Reliability - A reliable computer network is always available for use.

Security - A secure computer network is safe and protected from unauthorized access and misuse. Data is safe from being accessed by unauthorized users and protected devices from being attacked by hackers.
